How to install phpLD |

This HOW-TO covers the process of installing PHPLD in a few simple steps. Any questions or feedback can be sent to admin@directory-king.com This guide assumes that you will be installing to a top level domain, have a hosting account and will be based on installing the current version (3.2.0). 1. First download and extract PHPLD from their website. Open the phpLD folder and read the install file, a copy of the text is shown below. It will give you the information that you need to complete the installation. - include/config.php
4. Next create a MySQL database to associate to your directory:
5. Add a user to the database.
6. Give the user all privileges.
The first screen you see will look like this: 8. Pick your language and hit next. 9. If you have checks as shown hit next. 11. Check all three and hit next. 12. Fill in a username, administrator name, password and email address and hit next. 13. Click on redirect to your directory page and hit Complete Installation.

****** BASIC INSTALLATION ****** 1. Upload the files in the archive to your host.
If the folders do not exist please create them. 3. Rename config.php.new to config.php 4. Access the installer/updater by trying to go to the directory. It should forward you to http://www.your-domain.com/install/, if it doesn't try typing in the URL directly. For example, if you installed the directory in a sub folder of your domain it may look like this: http://www.your-domain.com/directory/install/index.php 5. As a security measure, we recommend you change back permissions to 644 on the file:
You can also remove the entire "install" folder. If you want to (re)install/update on a later point, you can upload the folder again.
** ADVANCED CONFIGURATION ** If you want to enjoy all features of PHP Link Directory, you probably want to go through the next steps. 8. Google/Yahoo!
